Good Evening, Lincoln Lightning Families!

🏊⚡ Championship season is almost here!

We can hardly believe it's already time for the VFCAL Championship Meet—the grand finale of an incredible season! Our swimmers have worked so hard, improved tremendously, and shown what it truly means to be part of the Lincoln Lightning family. We can't wait to watch them put all of that hard work on display one last time this season!

The league has released the official championship information, and we have a few important details to share.  

🏆 VFCAL 2026 Championship Meet

📅 Date: Saturday, July 18
📍 Location: Woodland
155 N. West St.
Woodland, CA
(Approximately a 45-minute drive—likely even shorter with early morning traffic!)

✅ Swimmer Entries – Response Needed by Friday, July 10 at 6:00 PM

To be eligible for Championships, swimmers must have competed in at least two dual meets this season.

Please let us know by Friday, July 10 at 6:00 PM whether your swimmer(s) will be participating. League entries are due shortly after, and creating the meet lineup takes several days.

You can declare your swimmer(s):

• Through SwimTopia, or
• By emailing Megan at [email protected] or Savannah at [email protected]

Each swimmer may compete in:

• 3 individual events
• 2 relay events

If your swimmer has events they especially want to swim—or events they would prefer not to swim—please include that information in the notes section. Otherwise, the coaching staff will create the lineup to maximize team points while placing swimmers in events where they can be successful and swim legal strokes.

⏰ Meet Timeline

• 7:15 AM – Swimmers check in with coaches
• 7:30–7:45 AM – 13 & Over warm-ups
• 7:40–7:50 AM – Ages 9–12 warm-ups
• 7:50–8:00 AM – Ages 8 & Under warm-ups
• 8:45 AM – Meet begins
• Around 2:00 PM – 6 & Under swimmers expected to finish (possibly earlier)
• Approximately 6:00 PM – Meet concludes

• 🥇 Medals: 1st–3rd Place
• 🎖️ Ribbons: 4th–20th Place
• 🎉 Participation ribbons for all swimmers placing 21st and beyond

👕 Championship T-Shirts

A championship t-shirt vendor will be onsite with shirts featuring the names of every Lincoln Lightning swimmer from this season—a fun keepsake to remember an amazing year!

🙋 Volunteers Needed

Championships are a huge team effort, and every team is required to provide volunteers throughout the meet.

Volunteer shifts are now available in SwimTopia with descriptions of each position. We ask that each family sign up for one volunteer shift. If you're unable to volunteer or have questions, please reach out—we'll do our best to work something out.
