Lincoln Lightning Swim Team

Savannah Smiley is the Head Coach, working with the 6 & unders, 11–12, and 15–18 age groups. She graduated from Twelve Bridges High School in 2025, where she swam varsity all four years, and now attends Sierra College. She will be transferring to University of North Carolina Greensboro in the fall. Savannah brings 11 years of swim experience and has been with the City of Lincoln for 3 years. Outside of coaching, she runs a side business in social media management and logo/website design. A fun fact—she’s a D1 concert go-er and her favorite candy is Mike & Ikes!

Megan Henry coaches the 7–8, 11–12, and 13–14 age groups, and will also works on stroke technique with all groups. She swam competitively through college and brings extensive coaching experience, including Division I programs, CCA, Roseville Sugarbears, and serving as Director at Rocklin Swim Team. Megan holds a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sports Psychology and Exercise Science, and has spent 30 years working in aquatics, including 22 years with the City of Roseville. Outside of coaching, she enjoys running and has logged over 2,000 miles in a single year, completing a marathon and several half marathons. A fun fact—she loves distance running, and her favorite candy is Sour Patch Watermelons!

Caleb McKeon coaches the 7–8 and 9–10 age groups, bringing 8 years of swim experience to the team. He is a graduate of Lincoln High School and currently attends Sierra College. Caleb has been working with the City of Lincoln for 2 years. Outside of the pool, he enjoys singing and playing multiple instruments. A fun fact—his main event in high school was the 500-yard freestyle, and his favorite candy is Starburst!

MarLanna (Marley) Everts coaches the 7–8, 9–10, and 13–14 age groups, bringing 9 years of swim experience and 6 years of coaching to the team. She attends Sierra College, where she played soccer for the past two years. MarLanna is also the City of Lincoln Aquatics Media Manager—so if you see her taking photos or videos, now you know why! Check her out on Instagram at flickbymars. Outside of the pool, she is passionate about soccer and is on the path to becoming a national soccer referee. A fun fact—her favorite candy is gummy worms!

Melia McNabb coaches the 7–8, 9–10, and 13–14 age groups, bringing 5 years of swim experience to the team. She is a graduate of Lincoln High School and has been working with the City of Lincoln for 4 years. Melia is currently studying bassoon as a music education major at University of Nevada, Reno. Outside of the pool, she loves singing and practicing the bassoon. A fun fact—her passion for music has led her to pursue it at the collegiate level! Her favorite candy is Butterfingers.

Rylie Lemberger coaches the 6 & unders, 11–12, and 15–18 age groups, bringing 8 years of swim experience to the team. She is a junior at Twelve Bridges High School and is entering her second year with the City of Lincoln. Outside of the pool, Rylie plays recreational volleyball, volunteers at a variety of community events, and loves all things Disney. A fun fact—she has never had an energy drink and has never gotten her ears pierced! Her favorite candy is Skittles and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Jesse Miller coaches the 7–8, 11–12, and 13–14 age groups, bringing 5 years of swim experience to the team. He completes his schooling through the Atlas program and has been working with the City of Lincoln for 3 years. Outside of the pool, Jesse also participates in fencing. A fun fact—Jesse placed fifth in the 100 backstroke at a National Paralympic swimming competition in Idaho. His favorite candy is Reese’s!

Lily Grandin coaches the 6 & under and 9–10 age groups, bringing 7 years of swim experience to the team. She is currently attending Lincoln High School, and will attend Hoss Lee Academy in the fall. She has also been working with the City of Lincoln for the past 3 years. Outside of the City, Lily enjoys trap shooting and is actively involved in FFA. A fun fact about her—she’s an Alani lover and her favorite candy is Sour Patch Watermelon!

Cole Davis coaches the 6 & unders, 9–10, and 13–14 age groups, bringing 6 years of swim experience to the team. He attends Lincoln High School and has been working with the City of Lincoln for 2 years. Outside of the pool, Cole is the lead singer of his band, The Signal, and plays varsity lacrosse as a goalie. A fun fact—he’s in a band, and his favorite candy is Sour Skittles!
