Welcome Volunteer Coach- Annie Moore!
Good Morning, Team!
Some of you may have noticed a new face on the pool deck over the past couple of days. Please join me in giving a warm welcome to Annie Moore!
Annie has completed the City of Lincoln’s volunteer onboarding process and will be helping coach a couple of practices each week. Her children, Ruthie and Jamie, are also members of our swim team.
Annie is a certified USA Swimming coach who provides private instruction to elite swimmers in the area. She brings more than 20 years of coaching experience and was a collegiate swimmer herself. In her early twenties, she founded and successfully operated her own swim team in Boston, gaining valuable experience managing a growing program in a limited pool space—something we can certainly relate to here.
About ten years ago, Annie and I coached together with the Rocklin Mavericks. During that time, we grew a year-round team from 27 athletes to 58 in just one month and helped nearly the entire team qualify for Junior Olympics that summer. Many of those swimmers went on to compete at the collegiate level, and some even achieved NCAA “A” cuts and Olympic Trials qualifying times.
In addition to coaching athletes, Annie has also led coaching clinics for teams throughout the region. Looking ahead, she will be assisting with coach development and training for our staff as well.
Please make Annie feel welcome when you see her on deck. Her husband, James, will also be helping out this Saturday with the computer systems while Annie is busy wrangling the kids.
We’re excited to have Annie and her family as part of our team!
Megan
