Check In- At Check in, swimmers will receive their Events, Heats and Lanes. These Numbers will be written on their arm with Sharpie (it comes off easily with spray sunscreen). Example: #3 H1/ L3 This would mean Event 3 (6&under 25 yard freestyle, Heat 1, Lane 3) Heats: the group they are going in Lane: their lane assignment Programs with Events, Heats and Lanes will also be placed around the facility. If you have the Swimtopia app, you will also be able to access all of your swimmer's info on the app. Timers- if you volunteered to time, there will be a timer meeting at 4:35

. You will be given a clipboard, stopwatches, and a lane assignment. We  promise it is an easy job and you get a front row seat to the fun. You can check in for your timing shift when your swimmer checks in at 3:45 or 4:00. Timers shifts will change after backstroke (half-way through).

Team Meeting- we will have a quick team meeting following the timer meeting right before the meet starts. Ready Bench- We will have 3 rows of 6 chairs. Swimmers should report to the ready bench at least 3 heats prior to their race. Coach Riley will be lining swimmers up and getting them to the blocks. If parents can help get their swimmer to the ready bench that would be great. 8 &under Relays- All swimmers in 8& under relays will swim 25 yards. This means the 2nd and 4th swimmer will start at the opposite end of the pool. Swimmers may jump or do shallow dives from that end. Thie 1st and 3rd swimmers will start from the diving block side. The 6&under relay is the first event of the meet. The 7-8 Relay is at the end. What to Bring-
  1. Water
  2. Electrolyte beverage
  3. Snacks-easy things kids can grab a quick handful of between races (ex. Watermelon cubes, grapes, pretzels) If they need a bigger snack after school do that too.
  4. Swim suits, goggles, and a cap if desired.
  5. 2 they will want an additional dry towel because they are swimming so many races. It will also be nice to have one to sit on.
  6. Blanket/ sleeping bag to sit on or wrap up in if cold
  7. Chairs for parents/ family watching.
  8. Cards, toys, or coloring materials to keep occupied and hang with friends between races.
Best times- Swimmers should ask the timer what their time was when they finish their race. If a swimmer swims a best time (or beats their time from Time Trials) they may come to the announcer/ coaches table and get a lollipop. Awards-Ribbons will be given for each race a swimmer swims. Ribbons will be based on their place in their heat (1st through 6th), not their overall place. Ribbons will be given out the following week at practice. This may take until Thursday for the coaches to finish. Team Shirts-We would love the kids to wear their new tie-dyed team shirts to school tomorrow and be ready in them at the meet. We need some pictures! Also, if the kids wear them to school they may find other kids who go to their school who are on swim team. Photography-

If you are interested in taking pictures during the meet that we can use for social media, marketing, and website, let us know. Or if you just take something that is awesome, send it our way ([email protected]). If you are new to this and have questions, don't hesitate to ask! We want this to be a super fun experience.

Have a great day!  See you at practice!

Megan, Savannah and Ava
