. You will be given a clipboard, stopwatches, and a lane assignment. We promise it is an easy job and you get a front row seat to the fun. You can check in for your timing shift when your swimmer checks in at 3:45 or 4:00. Timers shifts will change after backstroke (half-way through).
Team Meeting- we will have a quick team meeting following the timer meeting right before the meet starts. Ready Bench- We will have 3 rows of 6 chairs. Swimmers should report to the ready bench at least 3 heats prior to their race. Coach Riley will be lining swimmers up and getting them to the blocks. If parents can help get their swimmer to the ready bench that would be great. 8 &under Relays- All swimmers in 8& under relays will swim 25 yards. This means the 2nd and 4th swimmer will start at the opposite end of the pool. Swimmers may jump or do shallow dives from that end. Thie 1st and 3rd swimmers will start from the diving block side. The 6&under relay is the first event of the meet. The 7-8 Relay is at the end. What to Bring-- Water
- Electrolyte beverage
- Snacks-easy things kids can grab a quick handful of between races (ex. Watermelon cubes, grapes, pretzels) If they need a bigger snack after school do that too.
- Swim suits, goggles, and a cap if desired.
- 2 they will want an additional dry towel because they are swimming so many races. It will also be nice to have one to sit on.
- Blanket/ sleeping bag to sit on or wrap up in if cold
- Chairs for parents/ family watching.
- Cards, toys, or coloring materials to keep occupied and hang with friends between races.
If you are interested in taking pictures during the meet that we can use for social media, marketing, and website, let us know. Or if you just take something that is awesome, send it our way ([email protected]). If you are new to this and have questions, don't hesitate to ask! We want this to be a super fun experience.
Have a great day! See you at practice!
