Welcome to Fall Team!
Thank you for registering for the Lincoln Lightning Fall Team. We are so excited to get started next week. Reminder that there are no tryouts this season. Everyone who meets the minimum requirements makes the team. All practices and meets will be at McBean Pool. PRACTICE TIMES 4:15-4:45pm 6&under and 7-8 4:45-5:30 9-10 and 11-12 5:30-6:20 12-14 5:30-6:30 High School PARENT MEETING We will be having a quick 5-10 minute parent meeting at the beginning of each practice on September 9th. At this time we will discuss what to expect as well as best ways to communicate with us. COACHES Coaches this season will be Savannah, Ava and Megan. We will also have 2-3 assistant coaches each evening. We will be focusing on stroke technique, racing, diving, and building endurance. Each practice will have a slightly different focus, so the more practices your swimmer attends, the more they will get out of it. However, we completely understand there are competing schedules at this time of year and it is ok to miss practice. PRACTICE HELPERS If any of the older swimmers are interested in helping out the younger swimmers in the water during practice, please reach out to me. It can also be a good way to earn community service credit for anyone who needs it. I will also talk to the swimmers about this the first week of practice. FALL SWIM MEETS Saturday, October 4 9am-12pm Saturday, October 25 9am-12pm Check in will be at 8:00am and warm ups will start around 8:10am. We will likely be looking for parents to time as well as possibly do other tasks during the meets. Swimmer and volunteer sign-ups will take place the week before the meet. We will also be doing Time Trials during regular scheduled practice times on Tuesday, September 23rd. Coaches will be timing swimmers in individual events to get times for entering the meets. FINS This season, we would like all swimmers to have their own swim fins for practice. We will be working focusing on their kick and leg strength, and fins are a helpful tool. We will also be using them to improve their butterfly technique and underwater kicking. The link to purchase fins from Swimoutlet.com is below. You may also be able to find them at Big 5 or on Amazon. If your swimmer already has fins, even if they are different ones, you do not need to purchase more. Please label them with your child's name using a permanent marker, so they don't get mixed up. https://www.swimoutlet.com/products/sporti-essential-floating-swim-fins-color-8201640
